Brookstone Institute of Global Studies (“Brookstone”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a KHDA-approved professional training institute based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.
It applies to www.brookstone.ae and to enquiries you send us through the website, our advertisements, WhatsApp, email or phone.

What we collect
Information you give us. When you submit an enquiry form, request a call, apply for a programme, or contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, we collect the details you provide. This typically includes your name, email address, phone number, country of residence, educational background, preferred intake, and anything else you choose to tell us.
If you go on to apply for a programme, we will also collect the documents required for admission and for a UAE student visa. We will tell you what those are at the point we ask for them.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website we collect standard technical information through cookies and similar technologies. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, how long you spend on them, and how you arrived at the site. This is described in the cookies section below.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Our programmes require a completed bachelor’s degree.
Why we use it
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiry and answer your questions about our programmes
- guide you through the application and admission process
- arrange your student visa, accommodation, travel and insurance if you enrol
- send you information about intakes, fees, scholarships and deadlines
- understand how our website and advertising are performing, so we can improve them
- meet our obligations to KHDA and other UAE authorities
We contact you because you asked us to, or because you are an applicant or student. You can ask us to stop at any time.
Who sees your information
Your enquiry stays with the Brookstone admissions team. We do not sell your information, and we do not pass your enquiry to education agents or any other third party for their own marketing.
We do share limited information in these situations:
Service providers. Our website hosting, email and analytics providers process data on our behalf, under instruction, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Advertising and analytics platforms. We use Google Analytics and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising tools on our website. These collect usage data through cookies and help us measure whether our advertising is reaching the right people. This is covered in more detail below.
Authorities and partners, where enrolment requires it. If you enrol, we share the information necessary to process your student visa, Emirates ID, medical insurance and accommodation with the relevant UAE government bodies and service providers.
Where the law requires it. We will disclose information if we are legally obliged to.
Where your information is held
Your information is stored on servers located in the United Arab Emirates.
If you are contacting us from outside the UAE, your information will be transferred to and processed in the UAE. Some of our service providers, including Google and Meta, may process data in other countries as part of their global infrastructure.
How long we keep it
If you make an enquiry and do not enrol, we keep your information for 12 months from your last contact with us, then delete it.
If you enrol, we keep your student records for as long as required by KHDA and UAE law. [CONFIRM: exact retention period for enrolled student records]
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your information
- stop contacting you
- stop using your information for marketing
Email office@brookstone.ae and we will respond. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not release someone else’s information by mistake.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the UAE Data Office.
Cookies
Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use them for the following purposes.
Necessary cookies. Required for the website to function. These cannot be switched off.
Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, which pages are read, and where visitors come from. This helps us improve the site. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Advertising cookies. We use Meta and Google advertising tools to measure the performance of our campaigns and to show relevant advertising to people who have visited our site. Meta’s data policy is at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, parts of the site may not work properly.
You can opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and adjust your Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
Advertising
We advertise on Meta platforms and on Google. If you submit your details through an advertisement, we receive them directly from that platform and they are handled exactly as described in this policy.
We may show advertising to people who have visited our website. We do not upload customer lists or use contact information for advertising targeting. [CONFIRM: this is true today, but if Brookstone later runs Custom Audiences from an uploaded list, this line must be updated]
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is completely secure, but we restrict access to your information to the staff who need it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change we will make that clear on this page.
